David R. Kirlin, DPM
“My goal has always been to listen to my patient’s concerns and provide the most efficient, cost-effective treatment to put them back on their feet. Life is a moving experience, and I want to keep my patients moving…”
I was born and raised in New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia. When I finished my residency training, my wife, Nan, daughter Becca, and I moved to Gastonia and founded the practice. We were soon blessed with two more daughters, Hanna and Maddie. Gastonia has been home now for many years and we love it here. In order to give back to the community, I have become involved in politics as a city councilman and enjoy serving the public in this fashion. My other interests include racquetball, hiking, kayaking, traveling, singing in my church choir and photography. I enjoy lecturing to civic organizations on podiatric health topics and am available to speak on a variety of current topics.
I have a special concern for diabetic patients and their foot care. Prevention of diabetic complications is of the utmost importance. I take pride in excellent management of diabetic ulcers and provide both conservative treatment and reconstructive surgery to help prevent these problems.
Heel pain is another special area of interest of mine. With more people walking for exercise the incidence of this problem is increasing. Orthotic devices many times will cure the problem and I have had great success in utilizing “shockwave therapy” for the hard to treat cases of heel pain.
