Dr. Randall Contento, DPM

Dr. Randall Contento was raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Elon University. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.


He completed a four-year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center, where he received extensive training in wound care, reconstructive forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery. Dr. Contento has been in private practice since 2009 and joined Gaston Foot & Ankle Specialists in 2017.


Board Certified in Foot Surgery as well as Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstruction Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Dr. Contento is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He enjoys treating all aspects of foot and ankle care and believes in educating patients about both conservative and surgical options, working together to develop the best treatment plan.



Dr. Contento lives in Gastonia, North Carolina, with his wife, Natalie, and their three young children. He is an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, golfing, and traveling with his family.
