Dr. Santiago is a great doctor. He removed my toenail, I felt no pain at all. I was so scared, my heart was beating so fast I new I was going to have a heart attack. He did not hurt me at all while removing my toenail. He told me the truth that I would not hurt and he is very honest. I wish all doctors were like him.

As the result of a stroke, I lost my natural ability to keep my balance. After the stroke I was transferred from Gaston Memorial Hospital to the rehab facility on Belmont-Mt. Holly Road, where I remained for two weeks, and where I received excellent care and learned to walk again.
In the past year I have begun to regress, falling backward, sometimes five times a week.
Dr. Santiago recommended that I let him mold supports which would be inserted into my shoes. After these were molded and fitted into my shoes, I have had only one fall - not a fall backwards, but forward at the bottom of the back steps. There was no injury, only a tear in my jeans.

My story began six months ago. I awakened with a severely swollen foot and was barely able to walk on it. Of course it happened on a weekend so I went to the Urgent Care. The purplish color led them to believe it may be a blood clot and I was sent to the E.R. I had x-rays, sonograms and was sent home being told there wasn’t anything wrong. I went to my orthopedic doctor and he gave me an MRA which I never received the results. Long story short, one E.R. trip, Urgent Care, and three doctors and my primary care doctor sent me to see Dr. Santiago.
He was not only personable but realized immediately that I had two stress fractures in my foot that were obvious to me looking at the x-ray. He recommended wearing a special sock that helps with the daily pain and swelling.
Dr. Santiago followed up with the nicest letter. Not a form letter but a personal letter. His staff was friendly, helpful, and highly professional. I would recommend him to everyone I know or don’t know. He saved me from more pain I would have endured and I will be eternally grateful. Thank you!
